Jumpsuit

I’ve gotta say, I’ve always wanted to get away with wearing a jumpsuit. Until a friend let me borrow this one for a recent party, I hadn’t been able to find one that was flattering. Not only was it crazy comfortable, but I loved that it was different than what I would typically wear.

Jumpsuit: Reformation (similar here), Earrings: Dannijo, Shoes: Vince Camuto, Bag: Marni, Leather Jacket: Surface to Air

Waiting for my Helicopter

Dress: c/o Tart Collections, Shoes: Madewell, Sunglasses: Karen Walker, Cuff: Heather Belle from PopSugar MustHave, Watch: vintage Gucci from eBay

I was lucky enough to spend the end of 2012 in warm Florida with my family.

For 2013, my resolution is to make a better effort at keeping in touch with friends and family that I don’t get to see everyday. Life gets busy easily, but it’s so important!

My style resolution on the other hand, is just to buy better shoes. That one’s so deep, I know.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Must Have Luxury Edition

During this busy season, one of the best things I did was order the POPSUGAR Must Have Luxury box. I’ll be keeping some things for myself, and giving some things as gifts… but I’m not saying what. Shhhh.

Gallery

This was a recent weekend project… well sort of. We had been collecting this art for over a year now, saving them all to hang up in our dining room!

We decided in advance that all of the frames would be either black or gold so that the eclectic range of artwork would flow together. (Besides for the landscape in a brown frame that was a last minute addition, oh well)

Before we hung them, we laid them out on the floor to try out a few different compositions. We decided on a layout with a straight center line to give the grouping a structured look. It worked well for us to mark the center point for the grouping and work out to the sides, measuring evenly between each piece. (We chose to space them by two inches)

I’m really happy with how it turned out, and can’t stop staring at it. We’re even planning on letting it expand a little with one more piece on each end.

Paris

What I love most about travel is that it’s a perfect time to take in some inspiration. As a designer, I’ll often feel like I am outputting creativity until there’s nothing left. Paris was the perfect place to take in a whole lot of inspiration.

Sitting in the grass infront of the Eiffel tower, eating cheese and drinking champagne = the best.

Paris was a little cool, so I made sure to bring lots of layers.

We met up with a lovely Parisian artist and her husband who toured us around the Centre Pompidou. I loved the detail of Picasso’s crosshatching below:

I had been wanting to see the Paris Flea market for years, and finally made it there! Such a magical place consisting of quiet alleys and boxes of art, jewelry, old postcards, silver boxes, and random treasures.

Leather Peplum

Top: Tinley Road, Jeans: J Brand, Watch: vintage Gucci

A weekend at the Viceroy in LA thanks to a surprise from my guy.

Obviously, the first thing I did was climb all over the furniture and jump on the bed. For the rest of the weekend, we were finally able to soak in some sun. This was much to the chagrin of Karl the fog, who has been working hard to keep us pasty white.

At Home

With not much time at home these days, when I am home I make sure to turn on a record and squeeze my kitties.
